One of the most important liberation movements of modern history in 1893 which a railroad conductor kicked a young Indian lawyer off a first-class train compartment that was reserved for whites.
ReplyDeleteThis is interesting because the white conductor thought he was so much better than the Indian lawyer.

ReplyDeletethis is a example of number 2 because they think they are better than the Indian lawyer
The essential question #1 was "Khokhoi who were suspected of theft were branded with hot irons and dumped on Robben Island. A smallpox infection brought by the Europeans nearly annihilated the herdsman." This was interesting because it reminded me of the Black Plague and that it was a mass killing of people. page #18 and it connects to the essential question #1 because there is poverty because some people work harder that others and the people that work harder normally has more money then the people who doesn't work don't have that much money and that is why there is poverty.

ReplyDelete"The guards above amused themselves by urinating through the vent onto the prisoners."
Essential question: Why do people dominate others?
The white guards showed their power over the black prisoners by peeing on them. I found this interesting because why would the guards do this if they wouldn't like people doing this to them? I think they did this to make the blacks feel less than what they are actually are. They were trying to show that they were better than the blacks. The blacks never did anything to the guards so the guards shouldn't be dominating them.
